During the roundtable discussion, Dean of the Faculty of Social Communications Lyudmila Baeva presented a report on some factors of sustainable development of the modern society. The floor was given to Aleksandr Grigoriev, Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology, to Irina Bocharnikova, the Acting Head of the Project Office of International Cooperation and Development, and to Colin Fisher, a student of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the University of Caen Normandy who is taking an international exchange programme and now is studying at ASU. The student reported on the environmental factor in social sustainable development and dwelled on the issue of the use of renewable energy sources in France. Reports of other students covered, among other things, the role of Jean Monnet in the formation and development of the European Union, the EU history and structure and the issue of health protection as one of the UN and EU sustainable development priorities.
