ASU Students and Teachers Now Can Join Potanin Foundation

Natalia Shulgina, the Director of programmes of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation, spoke about some advantages of open grant programmes and urged to be active in submitting applications.

It should be recalled that only this year Astrakhan State University has gained the right to apply for grants of one of the largest Russian foundations. For ASU staff, the most relevant competitions are those aimed at systemic support of students and teachers of Master’s degree courses from 75 universities that are participants of the partner programme — a scholarship competition for 1st- and 2nd-year Master’s degree students and a grant competition for Master’s degree teachers.

According to Natalia Shulgina, there are no limitations of the number of applications from competition participants or their work status and designation of the granted resources. Priority is given to motivated and socially responsible applicants. Along with theoretical developments, applied initiatives also can receive financial support. Besides, an important aspect here is support, received by the grant winner from his/her own university, demonstration of university’s interest in their success. At his meeting with the guest, the ASU Rector stressed that the university is indeed very interested in cooperation with the Potanin Foundation.

At the meeting with Master’s degree students of Astrakhan State University, Natalia Shulgina told them about the competition procedure, the rules of application submission and gave some tips on successful completion of the distance stage.
