Konstantin Markelov Visits Industrial Park of Astrakhan State University
The platform serves as a polygon for digital solutions in innovative shipbuilding: here designed models are “materialized”, getting its physical shape.
The modern university and its ecosystem have to be well positioned to carry out scientific, research, experimental and design activities in the format of a full life cycle. Since September 1, 2019, ASU has been running its industrial park, where technology activities on highly promising projects are carried out on the area of more than 300 square metres. These are a marine multipurpose unmanned platform, amphibious hover crafts, catamarans with hybrid power systems and development of a unit for hydrogen synthesis from sea water.
Last Friday, Rector of Astrakhan State University Konstantin Markelov got to know about the current status of industrial park projects and plans for 2020. It is important that the projects involve industrial partners of the university; therefore, commercialization issues are solved in parallel with the engineering process and project solutions.
Besides, students of the ASU Faculty of Physics, Mathematics & Engineering have gained competencies during their work with the equipment and tools, installed on the electric catamaran “EcoWave” since the beginning of the academic year.
