Astrakhan State University Establishes Faculty of Economy and Management
A decision to optimize the units that ensure the economic education at the university was made last week at a meeting of the university top management.
It was decided to create a new faculty on the basis of two existing units — the Faculty of World Economy & Management and Faculty of Business & Economy.
“Like in all spheres, the modern economy needs multi-skilled universal professionals that are capable of working with big data and know several foreign languages. It sets specific requirements to organization of the educational process: it must be based on interdisciplinary ties between several blocks of subjects — information and communication, economics, finances and management”, said Aleksandr Treshchev, the ASU Vice Rector for Academic Activities.
The ASU Faculty of Economy & Management will provide fully-fledged training of students in all economic areas. Classes will be delivered by a team of experienced teachers, including 9 Doctors and 34 Candidates of Sciences. The organizational procedure on uniting the two faculties is to be completed before December 18, 2019.
