Astrakhan State University Experts Discuss Issues of Philosophy in Modern Society
The Reading Hall of the ASU Scientific Library hosted another meeting of the Philosophical Club, timed to World Philosophy Day. Teachers, Ph.D. candidates, MA and BA students of the Faculty of Social Communications discussed the topic “Philosophy in Russian Educational Space: Problems and Solutions”.
Associate Professor Leonid Podvoysky, who is the Chairman of the Astrakhan Office of the Russian Philosophical Society, congratulated the event participants on the occasion, established at the initiative of UNESCO in 2002, and briefly talked about its history.
Leonid Podvoysky also informed his colleagues on the preparations for the 8th Russian Philosophical Congress “Philosophy in Polycentric World”. The co-organizers of the event are the RAS Institute of Philosophy, Russian Philosophical Society and Lomonosov Moscow State University. The congress will take place on May 28-30, 2020 in Moscow.
The programme of the ASU Philosophical Club meeting included reports by Doctor of Philosophical Sciences Aleksandr Glazkov, Head of Department of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophical Sciences Sergey Khrapov, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Leonid Podvoysky, Associate Professor and Ph.D. Candidate of the Department of Philosophy Gulnara Sakeeva and MA students of the ASU Department of Philosophy. After the reports, the participants exchanged their views on the topic under consideration.
