Representative of Astrakhan State University Visits Embassy of Japan in Russia
On December 2-3, Moscow saw an annual conference of representatives of the Russia-Japan Society regional offices from 23 Russian cities, reporting on their activities, discussing plans for the upcoming year and sharing their experience of holding different events.
It should be recalled that Astrakhan State University has been running the Office of the Russia-Japan Society since 2009 and is the official representative of the all-Russian society.
The Office develops friendly relations with Japan, implements projects — above all, cultural, sporting, social, tourist and economic ones — that ensure the friendship between the two countries.
At the meeting in the Embassy of Japan, it was officially announced that the Cross-Year of Cultures would be followed by the years of 2020 and 2021, dedicated to the development of twin-city relations.
In her report, Irina Bocharnikova, the Acting Head of the Project Office of International Relations and Development, proposed three projects on cooperation: go board game, staff academic exchange and online-lectures and interaction in the sphere of IT. The report sparkled keen interest and lively discussion.
