Astrakhan State University Will Train Teachers of the Future

ASU has launched two centres of continuing advanced training for teaching staff “Teacher of the Future”. The programme is implemented within the framework of the national project “Education” and is aimed at improving pedagogical activities, assistance for mastering new technologies and their proper application in teaching practices.

The official ceremony of the Centre opening at Astrakhan State University brought together teachers of regional educational institutions and representatives of the region’s districts. Staff members of the ASU Branch in Znamensk also joined the event via videoconference. A similar centre was established there as well.

University Rector Konstantin Markelov congratulated his colleagues on the opening of the centre “Teacher of the Future” and wished success in their work.

In his turn, First Deputy Ministry of Educational and Science of Astrakhan region Sergey Frolov told the audience about the goals of the new project and the process of its development.

At the ceremony, Konstantin Markelov and Sergey Frolov signed an agreement between the university and the Government of Astrakhan region on further cooperation in the programme functioning.

The first meeting participants also were invited to discuss a profile of the teacher of the future.

The centres “Teacher of the Future” are aimed at addressing the tasks set in the Presidential Decree on Development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024. About 20 exclusive programmes of additional professional education have already been developed.
