“Smart Scholarship” Awarded at Astrakhan State University

In December 2019, ASU saw another ceremony of awarding the winners of the open scholarship competition from Center-invest Bank, held in our university for the second time.

The Bank has been awarding the “Smart Scholarship” in cooperation with the endowment fund "Education and Science of Southern Federal District” since 2003. The project is aimed at finding and supporting talented and initiative students who are capable of becoming the backbone of the country in future. 4,500 people have already become awardees of the competition.

It should be recalled that last year four students of ASU entered the list of 400 scholarship winners, who were recognized the best among 1,100 nominees.

This year the scholarship programme participants are 17 largest HEIs of Southern Russia.

Finally, 200 best Bachelor and Master’s degree students and PhD candidates won the scholarship in the amount of 40 thousand rubles and got an opportunity to undertake a traineeship in Center-invest Bank, a leading financial organization of the Southern Federal District. Two representatives of ASU — students of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics & Engineering Anastasiya Mikhaylova and Alina Salikhova — are among the winners.

The winners from Astrakhan State University were congratulated by Bank managers and ASU representatives — Vice-Rector for Research Activities Anna Fedotova, Head of the Directorate of Strategic Development & Priority Programs Realization Olga Altman and Dean of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics & Engineering Nikolay Vybornov. They stressed the importance of benefiting from all opportunities for growth and self-fulfillment from the very studentship.
