The strategic session “Caspian Scientific & Educational Centre — Growth Point of Economic Potential of Southern Russia” was continued with the ecosystem track “Searching for Solutions and Incentives for Growth and Win-Win Cooperation”.

Top managers of scientific and educational institutions that are eager to become part of the Caspian Centre have gathered within one of the six sub-tracks which is called “Managing the Future”. The meeting featured such experts as Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Science & Engineering Policy of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia Aleksey Semin and Head of the Project Office for Assistance to Scientific & Educational Centres under the RF Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Deputy Director of the Foundation “North-West Center for Strategic Research” Dmitry Sanatov.

According to Dmitry Sanatov, the Project Office for Assistance to Scientific & Educational Centres under the RF Ministry of Science and Higher Education provides Russian regions with support and consultations. The experts advised the sub-track participants to work on specialization of their centre. It’s also necessary to identify other factors that influence its development. The Moscow guest stressed that, ideally, it’s necessary to show contribution of the centre to science, while the areas must be unique so that the Caspian Centre differed from other regions.

Konstantin Markelov reminded the audience of the fact that in February 2020 Astrakhan State University will bring together vice-rectors of Caspian Region universities within the framework of the first meeting of the Commission for Science, Technology & Innovations, created at the 22nd General Assembly of the Association of State Universities of Caspian Region Countries in 2019 in Iran. The Rector confirmed that the basis for cooperation has already been created, and representatives of Kazakhstan, Iran and Turkmenistan express their activeness and interest.
