Vladimir Vysotsky’s Birthday Concert at ASU
Fans of the great Soviet singer-songwriter, poet and actor got together to honour his memory at another concert of the bard club of Astrakhan State University.
Professor of Faculty of Physics, Mathematics & Engineering Anatoly Likhter and students Ekaterina Egorova and Daniil Karshagin set the atmosphere of the concert, having performed Devotion to Vysotsky on the synthesizer, violin and guitar.
The hosts reminded the audience of the poet’s artistic journey and important stages of his life. Each song was accompanied by the history of its creation and video fragments from singer’s interviews.
ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov pleased the audience with two songs — About Bermuda Triangle and About Volodya Vysotsky, a song written by Bulat Okudzhava to the poet’s death. The Rector confessed that it was his first performance of Vysotsky’s songs before a large audience.
