More Than 500 Astrakhan Schoolchildren Compete in Their Knowledge of English at ASU

Last Sunday, on January 26, Astrakhan State University held the first stage of the Caspian interregional English competition among schoolchildren.

The competition involved more than 500 pupils of 7-11th grades of city and rural schools of Astrakhan region — almost 100 more than in the past academic year. The schoolchildren were given tasks in English grammar, vocabulary and phraseology.

Participation in the second stage of the competition, which will take place in March, will be open for those children that got the highest scores. Along with grammar tasks, participants will be offered various creative tasks.
