ASU Master’s Degree Student is the First Astrakhan Holder of Potanin Foundation Scholarship
Vyacheslav Dryagalov, a 1st-year Master’s degree student of the Faculty of Pedagogics & Social Work and a teacher at the Department of Culturology, is one of the winners of the 2019/2020 Scholarship Programme of Vladimir Potanin.
6,282 people sent their applications for the 2019/2020 season of the competition, and 3,740 of them were approved for participation. Upon results of two stages of the competition, 500 Master’s degree students (both of the 1st and 2nd years of study) were announced the winners. This year, it is the first time the students of Astrakhan State University have had an opportunity to try their hand in the selection procedure.
Vyacheslav Dryagalov studies at the Faculty of Pedagogics & Social Work in the programme “Economics, Law, Organization & Management in Social Work”. He also teaches at the Faculty of Social Communications and is engaged in research at the ASU Laboratory for Research of Social, Political and Cultural Dynamics of Lower Volga & Caspian Sea Region under scientific supervision of Prof. Anna Romanova, Doctor of Philosophy.
Scholarship winners were selected in two staged. In their written application for the competition, scientists presented their portfolios with a list of their research projects and achievements, a motivation letter and an essay on the planned topic of their Master’s degree theses. In the on-site round in Moscow, the student passed the competition tasks in the format of business games, interview, case studies and other group and individual forms of assessment and made an advertisement video on the given topic.
