Students and Staff Members of ASU Talk to UK Representatives

Last week saw another virtual class of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation with London Metropolitan University. The main topic of the class was the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. During the lesson, CITS and LondonMet students practiced consecutive and simultaneous interpretation.

Trainer of LondonMet University Danielle D’Hayer delivered a speech on how Brexit would affect EU citizens that live in the UK after the end of the transition period.

CITS trainer Dmitry Krutilov considered the issue in the context of the relations between Russia and the UK, Russia and the European Union and the UK and EU.

Teacher of Chinese at ASU Xu Yujie dwelled on the fact that Brexit would have an effect on further development of both European and Asian countries. The expert focused her attention on opportunities for new fruitful cooperation, opened up for China and the UK in the financial sphere.

MA students of the ASU Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation and London Metropolitan University also practiced simultaneous interpretation. After each speech, the trainers of both universities analyzed strong and weak points of the interpreters and assessed the quality of their performance and presentation.
