Astrakhan State University Launches Flashmob to Support International Students

Russia keeps observing the state of self-isolation. Unfortunately, not everyone has an opportunity to spend this time in the bosom of their families. A lot of foreign students of ASU and those from other Russian cities, who live in the university’s dormitories, couldn’t leave for their motherlands.

The students try to cheer up in this situation.

“We observe self-isolation, but it doesn’t mean that our life has stopped,” they say.

The students not only keep learning remotely but also do sports, dance, make videos and share them in social media. The young people show how to organize free time with fun if you’re caged up within these four walls and not to give in to panic.

In our turn, we’ve decided to gladden the ASU students who live in our dormitories and to support them!

We invite you to take part in a new flashmob of ASU. Make your videos, add accounts @agu_astrakhan30 and @oso_asu to your Instagram stories so that we can repost them.

Perform national dances and songs, recite poems, tongue twisters in a foreign language or just say a few words of support.

The foreign students also can join the campaign — we’ll be happy to share the stories of your academic and artistic progress in the ASU news feed.
