ASU Journalism Students Held Transmedia Online Event

Last week, Astrakhan State University held the 3rd all-Russia scientific and applied conference “Current Issues of Modern Journalism and Media Communication”.

The 2-day online event brought together 89 journalism students of intra- and extramural forms of study.

The conference was organized by the Department of Theory & History of Journalismthrough videoconferencing in Zoom. Students of the BA and MA programmes, as well as students of extramural form of study presented their reports and got expert assessment and comments from teachers of the department.

The videoconference was coordinated by Associate Professor of the Department of Theory & History of Journalism Ekaterina Lazutkina, who did a study course in the advanced training programme “Organization of Students’Project Activity in Virtual Space” in 2018 at the Ural Federal University named after the First President of Russia B.N.Yeltsin, Yekaterinburg.

The two-day conference involved students from Crimea, Kalmykiya, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan who are observing self-isolation now.

These eventful days of the conference showed that journalism has a wide range of various scientific issues. The journalism students managed to demonstrate their scientific potential at a decent level, and the teachers showed their mastery of new competencies in organization of pedagogical communication in the digital environment.
