ASU Engineering Projects Are Implemented at National Level
Starting from the first study year, engineering students of Astrakhan State University join innovative frontier teams of developers of the Caspian Higher Engineering School. Thus, the study process is implemented not only in the classic but also in the project format.
One of the school’s achievements in maritime robotic engineering and development of ocean resources is the project «Maritime Multi-Purpose Unmanned Platform» that has received comprehensive support from the Skolkovo Foundation for Development of New Technology Design & Commercialization Centre.
The Foundation has already supported three applications of Maritime Robotic Systems, a spin-off company of Astrakhan State University, for the project implementation. All the applications meet the requirements of the provisions on micro-grants and respective orders of the Skolkovo Foundation.
According to Head of the ASU Caspian Higher Engineering School Aleksey Titov, implementing the applications in the format of micro-grants will allow the team to get technological equipment and a prototype — a single-hull unmanned maritime system — within six months.
As Aleksey Titov says, all the project works are performed with regard to the world practices on developing unmanned maritime systems and the regulatory documents on design and operation of maritime autonomous and remotely operated surface vessels, applied in Russia.
