ASU Students Created Lightboard for Online Lectures

3rd-year students of the Faculty of Digital Technologies & Cybersecurity Anatoly Bondarev and Nikita Nefedov developed a joint project on a LCD backlight glass board design during their internship.

Lightboard is ideal for distance learning. Professors often have to write formulas, but it’s quite difficult to capture them on video from a regular blackboard so that everything is clearly seen. The luminescent transparent screen of Lightboard solves this problem — the lector stands behind the board and writes on it with markers. Besides, he/she doesn’t have to turn back to the group, and the students can see both his/her face and notes.

Lightboard is a result of the work experience internship the students had to undertake at home because of the unfavourable epidemiological situation. The project has been supervised by Associate Professor of the Department of Information Technologies of Astrakhan State University Andrey Veriga.
