VUZPROMEXPO Guests Have a Look at ASU Students and Scientists’ Developments

The 7th national exhibition of Russian science achievements, held in Moscow, is under way. Astrakhan State University is exhibiting eight projects of the university, including those that are ready for manufacturing application.

The ASU stand presents an agricultural robot for tomato harvesting, SMELCOM ROV 200 submersible robot, Legend remote-piloted vehicle for water body monitoring, and a software package for detecting defected industrial items.

Besides, the students are presenting SMART FACE SHIELD, 3D face shields with temperature sensors that have been manufactured by students and staff members of the ASU Institute of Physics & Mathematics for the region’s healthcare institutions from the very beginning of the pandemic.

Other exhibit items of the university are connected with artificial intelligence — a chat bot of the Admissions Office for automatic answers to some frequently asked questions and a service to assess the emotional involvement into the educational process.

Hundreds of guests have visited the ASU stand since the beginning of the exhibition. Among them is State Duma Deputy Leonid Ogul. He talked to the students — young scientists of our university — and had a look at the exhibit items. The deputy got especially interested in the submersible robot, enabling serious exploration in aqueous media without divers’ participation and provision of their safety.
