Rector Konstantin Markelov Sends His New Year Greetings to ASU

Dear students, professors and administrative staff of Astrakhan State University! Please accept my sincere greetings on the most magical day of the year!

The year of 2020 has brought severe challenges — the COVID pandemic has affected all spheres of our life. However, despite all the difficulties, we managed to implement our strategic tasks and, in general, to succeed. We arranged distance education on short notice so that the students could keep doing their study programmes in a comfortable way. We held interactive educational and extracurricular online events, took part in conferences and forums via videoconferencing, which helped stay in close touch with the university’s partners from other cities and countries. I think that we were ready to change our lives without experiencing any serious limitations. By the end of the year, we’d been more hardened, mobile in the online space and creative. I hope that our fruitful cooperation will go on.

I thank you for your responsible attitude toward your health and family security, and for mutual support. All that helped us avoid serious consequences.

In the new year, I wish all of you plenty of good events and positive emotions. May you have energy and aspiration for creativity and development, for making plans and fulfilling them. May all your dreams come true. May the holidays bring you only joy, and may the year of 2021 be marked with wonderful and long-awaited moments. I wish you, your family and friends good health.
