ASU Students Celebrated Tatiana Day Dancing

Astrakhan State University has held its third student ball. This time, the hall of the university’s Cultural Centre was filled with sounds of jazz and the atmosphere of the USA of the first half of the 20th century.

The celebration brought together students, professors and the administration of ASU. Rector Konstantin Markelov stressed that the tradition of celebrating Tatiana Day in such a beautiful and refined way is one of the best of our university.

The central theme of the concept was noir — the participants performed well-known US dances — ragtime, quickstep, two-step, cross-step and charleston.

Of course, the themed programme was supplemented by classical dances too — wonderful pairs were swept away by Vienneze waltze and valeta.

The guests also joined the dancing — they took part in slow dances and secular entertainments, while the ASU Cultural Centre performed wonderful singing items for the audience.
