Astrakhan State University Participates in Agricultural Forum

ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov and members of the Faculty of Agribusiness, Technologies & Veterinary Medicine took part in the 9th International Exhibition & Conference “Seeds, Plant Protection Agents & Agritechnology”, organized by the Astrakhan Branch Office of the Russian Agricultural Centre.

The exhibition hall brought together more than 20 leading suppliers of seeding and planting materials of agricultural crops, plant protection agents and farming equipment, as well as staff members of educational and research institutions, in particular Astrakhan State University, Volgograd State University and Federal Scientific Rice Centre. Besides, the conference involved a delegation from Kazakhstan.

The event participants discussed issues of training highly skilled HR for the regional agriculture and improving the crop production efficiency. The experts established new contacts for further cooperation and got relevant information about the main trends in the development of modern innovative agritechnologies.

Representatives of ASU told the exhibition visitors about the majors and study programmes in agriculture, offered by the university, about the specificity of training and organizing traineeships and scientific publications of the faculty, inviting everyone interested to enter our university. Rector Konstantin Markelov had a talk with Deputy Head of the Administration of Atyrau region, Kazakhstan, Kayrat Nurlybayev. The parties discussed new vectors of development between the university and the Republic of Kazakhstan in agriculture.

For example, ASU is holding a career-guidance virtual conference on February 17, where representatives of ASU will present the university’s potential in training HR for the agricultural sector.
