Astrakhan State University Holds All-Russia Competition for Schoolchildren

Today, Astrakhan senior schoolchildren who are proficient in English have joined the competition. The regional stage of the competition is being held at ASU for two days.

The university brought together more than 160 schoolchildren of the 9-11th grades who are going to “attack”» the leading universities of the country upon completion of their school studies.

On February 16, the entrants completed written tasks on comprehension of an oral and written texts, a vocabulary and grammar test and tasks to check the level of their sociocultural competency; they also took part in a written speech competition.

Tomorrow, on February 17, the participants will have a spoken language competition.

Winners and awardees of the final stage of the all-Russia competition can enroll at Russian universities (in subject-related programmes) without any admission examinations.
