Students of Astrakhan State University Rescue the City from Snow Captivity

This week, the citizens of our city have been happy with a real winter fairytale. However, it started turning into a snow collapse. Activists of the regional branch offices of the All-Russia People's Front Youth and the Youth of the Governorate engaged in cleaning the city of snow, guided by students of the Law Faculty Artur Oganesyan and Dmitry Mantsurov.

These days have been a real challenge for pedestrians and drivers — snowed-up roads and paths, traffic jams everywhere. Such a snowfall is a real chaos for a southern city. The utilities fail to clear all the streets at the same time when the snow keeps falling.

Elderly people and persons with disabilities are the most vulnerable groups in this situation. So, an elderly citizen of Astrakhan, who is a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, asked for help with cleaning the area near his house of snow. The ASU volunteers responded to the request immediately and, despite of the frost, wind and nighttime, took spades and rushed for help.
