Konstantin Markelov Meets with ASU Student Activists

Active students of Astrakhan State University discussed with the rector the main issues of organizing and implementing educational and extracurricular activities at our university in an informal setting.

New Chair of the United Council of Students Diana Raskurina presented her ideas, the action plan of the Council and priority areas of activities to the audience. She spoke about organization of student events, an increase of the number of youth hobby clubs, student associations and creation of a single information space. Diana Raskurina especially dwelled on the structure of the Student Council, primarily on the work with faculties.

Then the members of the joint student council shared their own plans. They told the audience about the events held and asked Konstantin Markelov their questions of interest, and the active youth is interested in lots of things — from the quality of the windows installed in the dormitories and technical equipment of the buildings to the personal traits a rector should have.

The rector supported the initiatives of the students and spoke about the plans for the coming years — modernization and renovation of dormitories, development of comfortable areas to study and live, construction of sports facilities with a swimming pool in one of the districts of our city and a scientific and educational student campus in another one.

At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed to hold similar topic-specific events every month.
