Pre-Defense of Projects in Format “Startup as a Graduation Thesis” Held at ASU

2021 graduating students of Astrakhan State University presented their developments to a working group that is in charge of the innovative programme for the defense of graduate qualification works.

The preparation of theses began this February. The ASU Caspian Higher School of Engineering has accepted 31 applications to be defended in the form of a start-up. 16 applications were submitted from the Faculty of Architecture and Design, 12 from the Faculty of Pedagogical Education, Art, Service & Culture, and the Faculty of Digital Technologies & Cybersecurity, Faculty of Biology and Faculty of Economics & Management submitted one application each.

For four months, the programme participants gained experience in training and acceleration projects, such as SberStudent, Preactum Cup, Constructorium, and also consulted with the My Business Center.

Aleksey Titov, ASU Vice-Rector for Digitalization, Innovation and Priority Projects, noted that the developments of the graduating students are worthy of inclusion in the university’s innovation agenda, but the success of the presented startups depends primarily on the speed of finalizing projects to the level of a minimum viable product.
