ASU Student Became World Grappling Champion

Ibragim Magomedov, a third-year student of the Faculty of Economy & Management of Astrakhan State University, has won the international competition in wrestling among juniors.

Participants from Armenia, Hungary, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, the Philippines and Russia competed at the tournament held in Ufa as part of the world championship among juniors. Ibragim Magomedov had four fights and took gold in the weight category up to 71 kg in grappling-gi. Russia also ranked first in the team classification, having won a total of 83 awards.

As the young man says, he had no competitors left among juniors, and now the financial management student is striving for new victories and participation in the Olympic Games: Ibrahim believes that grappling will become an Olympic sport in the future.

Despite the tough schedule, the wrestler manages to successfully combine his studies at the Faculty of Economy & Management of Astrakhan State University with training and victories at various tournaments.
