ASU and Russia — the Country of Opportunities Will Help Students Identify Their Supra-Professional Skills and Find a Job

Astrakhan State University and Russia — the Country of Opportunities presidential platform are implementing a joint project of great interest to the region and the whole Russia — a center for the assessment and development of managerial competencies.

Round table “Points of Intersection and Win-Win Cooperation between Regional Employers and the Center for Assessing and Developing Managerial Competencies” was held on November 26 within the framework of the project. It brought together representatives of the university, public and youth organizations, HR structures and enterprises of the region.

The meeting was moderated by Vice-Rector for Digitalization, Innovation and Priority Projects of ASU Aleksey Titov and representative of the Our Future Social Projects Foundation Anastasia Stefanova.

Within the framework of the roundtable, the participants discussed issues of cooperation between commercial organizations, large corporations, government agencies and Astrakhan State University. The speakers noted that the standards of higher education primarily imply the assimilation of professional knowledge, skills and abilities. The development and assessment of supra-professional and managerial competencies is a little more difficult. Both students and employers recognize that they lack these very skills when looking for a job or when selecting a young specialist for a particular position. That is why centers of excellence are in high demand.
