ASU Students Attend Welcome Reception at Iranian Consulate
Consul-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Astrakhan Mehdi Akuchekian noted that a fairly large number of students in the city actively study the Persian language and culture, which undoubtedly contributes to strengthening relations between the countries.
According to the Consul-General, Astrakhan Tatishchev State University pays great attention to the development of this area of studies. In addition, he reminded the students of ASU that they have the opportunity to study at university in Rasht under the student exchange programme.
ASU students also made their contribution to the cultural programme of the event by reciting poems by great Persian poets. Masoud Ahmadvand highly appreciated the interest of the invited students in the Persian language and culture, praising them for their skills. The Advisor for Cultural Affairs of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation expressed hope for an active bilateral exchange between the students of our countries.
In his turn, Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran Farshod Mahdi Pour noted the importance of such meetings and expressed his hope for creating conditions for holding regular literary evenings with students of the Persian programmes and festivals of Iranian culture in the near future.
At the end of the evening, the guests of honour gave the ASU students gifts – collections of poems by famous Persian poets.
