Astrakhan Governor Meets with ASU Students

The Year of the Teacher and Mentor, the Day of Russian student and the name day of every beautiful Tatiana — all occasions united within the walls of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University and at the Q&A session with Igor Babushkin. During the meeting with the students, questions about the choice of major and further teachers’ employment were raised, as well as the main benefits and social guarantees for the year 2023.

ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov noted that teaching is one of the most respected and challenging trades in society, and today the region and country’s future lies in the hands of teachers and students. Astrakhan Tatishchev State University carries out a complete training of students for their future teaching activity, sets up a systematic work with Astrakhan educational institutions, and schoolteachers meet with university professors and get acquainted with the relevant training areas of higher education.

The Q&A session started with a discussion of the main reasons why students work outside their field of study and suggestions on how to improve the educational system, so that students start working in their field of study. The questions on management training in educational institutions, establishment of a new position of headmaster’s advisor on discipline, and employment of sports teachers did not go unnoticed.

The Astrakhan governor pointed out the main social guarantees and preferences in Russia, and Minister of Education and Science of Astrakhan Region Egor Ugarov said that students can participate in Rural Teacher programme, which provides assistance to teachers in getting a job in rural schools.

At the end of the event, the head of the university expressed his gratitude to the guests for the interesting dialogue and his hope for further cooperation. Igor Babushkin wished the students to find themselves in the profession and in life, but the improvement of conditions for students’ development is the main concern for the region.
