Young Journalists of ASU Challenge Their Colleagues
The regional selection stage of the International Festival of TV Ideas “You Can!” has started today. Astrakhan State University is represented by five teams of students.
The Festival “You Can!” holds one of its selection tours in Astrakhan again. Our University is represented by five teams that include students of our Department of Philology & Journalism.
To become a participant of the selection tour, the young journalists were to make a video in a socially important theme and to present it to the organizing committee; our students have handled that well. Now they are to face coach sessions and master classes, to say nothing of struggling for a finalist status. The Festival “You Can!” is some kind of an express school that teaches its participants various professional secrets and techniques. A whole number of Russia’s top journalists - Arina Sharapova, Yana Churikova, Andrey Bakhmetyev, Alexander Ilyin, and Natalya Metlina - will act as experts of the Festival. The selection tour will be held till May 18; that day will reveal who will become a finalist.
The regional stage has been initiated by Channel One Russia and backed by the Administration of Astrakhan Region and by the Regional Agency of Mass Communications. It is already the third time that students of our Department of Philology & Journalism take part in the Festival. In 2012 and 2013, our future journalists have been our worthy representatives in Latvia. Let us wish them good luck this year!
