Clever Young People of ASU

In middle May 2014, Astrakhan State University hosted the National Research Conference “Researches of Young Scholars - Their Contribution into Russia’s Innovative Development”. The Conference has been held as a part of the U.M.N.I.K. Program (“umnik” is colloquial Russian for “clever person”) arranged by the Fund of Assistance to Small Enterprises in Research & Technical Sphere.

Young scholars from ASU and from other higher educational institutions of Astrakhan have presented their innovative projects in the nominations “Information Technologies”, “Medicine of the Future”, “Modern Materials & Their Manufacturing Technologies”, and “New Apparatus & Hardware”. During the section meetings, experts of the united jury have been assessing the degree of innovations, the idea relevance, the technical significance of the presented products, prospects of product commercialization, and the social value of the projects. The winners shall get assets to develop their scientific ideas - €4.2k annually during two years. Among the 16 supported products, grants have been won by Mr. Zaripov, a student of our Department of Philology & Journalism, for his device to go in for sports within the duo-real environment based on pads and smart phones; by Mr. Baranets from the Department of Mathematics & IT for his system to correct carriage of kids and adults with a biological feedback; by Mr. Mikhaylov from the Department of Physics & Technology for his self-propelled defectoscope-crawler; and by Mr. Razvin from the same Department for his tool to control water macroparameters.

We would like to express our thanks to Mr. Vyacheslav Demchenko, who supervises the Fund of Assistance to Small Enterprises in Research & Technical Sphere in the Southern and the North Caucasian Federal Districts, for his support of Astrakhan region’s young researchers. The Astrakhan Branch of the Fund (headed by Prof. Marina Lozovskaya) would like to thank the Ministry of Education & Science of Astrakhan Region for their contribution into arrangement of this event.
