ASU Presents New Line of Cosmetic Products

The small innovative enterprise “Nika” operating at Astrakhan State University has presented a new line of cosmetic products. Our faculty staff has tried the unique preparations at a specially arranged master class.

The Unit of Human Resources Development of ASU has organized a master class in cosmetology to present the developments of the Nika Enterprise. The products have been presented to students and professors of our University. During the presentation class, anyone could have medicinal masks applied on their skin; the masks are based on medicinal muds. The guests have also learnt how to apply creams and masks in the right way, how to restore tired, dry, and fat skin. At the end of the master class, Professor Elena Kondratenko, Director of the Nika Enterprise, has told about the whole product line in details, especially about its medicinal properties.

The Nika Enterprise has been undertaking researches of medicinal properties of Astrakhan sulphide sludge mud and of local medicinal plants for over five years. Several certified lines of cosmetic products have been developed, including ones based on Lotus Nucifera, on medicinal muds from Astrakhan Region’s Liman District, and from muds of Lake Tambukan (the area of Caucasian Mineral Waters). Products of Nika Enterprise have assumed a worthy place at the Russian market long ago; it is of high demand among hard-to-please customers.

The master class has been arranged by the Unit of HR Development to tell ASU’s faculty and students what their own University manufactures. As Dr. Angelina Fadina, Head of the Unit, has told us, if a consumer and a manufacturer are in close contact and trust each other, such relations are very useful for the development of a high-quality product. The most essential thing is that any participant of the master class could see that research activities may really be profitable.
