For the Sake of Families & Kids

Students of the Department of Pedagogics, Social Work, & Physical Training have taken part in the national seminar “Development of Regional Models of Social Policy towards Families & Kids”. This is just the first day.

The first day agenda of the seminar included the plenary session and a ceremony of awarding the winners of the regional contest “Astrakhan Family of Third Millennium”. The Seminar has been opened by Alexander Zhilkin, Governor of Astrakhan Region, who pointed out that such meetings are important for any social worker. Welcome speeches have been given by Marina Gordeeva (Chairperson of the Fund for Support of Kids Facing Difficult Life Situations), by Evgeniy Silyanov (Director of the Department of State Policy in Children’s Rights Defense of the Federal Ministry of Education & Science), and by Ekaterina Lukyanenko (Minister of Social Development & Labor of Astrakhan Region). As for Leonid Ogul, a Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, he said it was not by chance that that Astrakhan Region has been chosen as a venue for this Seminar - it has been chosen on purpose, thanks to its very good demographic dynamics.

Students of Astrakhan State University, whose future jobs are related not only to the social sphere in general, but also to kids in particular, have got knowledge and experience from top experts - delegates from 42 regions of our country have come to the event. The main themes of the participants’ reports were orphanage, social support of kids in a difficult life situation, and interaction between the state and public organizations in their joint work with families and kids. The agenda of the second day promises to be more informative.
