Foreign students of ASU Present Artistic Works by Alexander Pushkin

Foreign students of ASU’s Department of Philology & Journalism from five countries of the world have made a video about artistic works by Russia’s greatest poet - Alexander Pushkin. Their video has become a winner of the youth festival in research and education dedicated to the Day of Russian Language, which is traditionally held on June 06 - Alexander Pushkin’s birthday.

Our students have taken the first place in the contest of videos “Pushkin as Our Greatest Poet”. Their video has actually screened the most famous works by Alexander Pushkin.

The bright, smart, and vivid video has been made by students who came to study at ASU from Azerbaijan, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan: Georgy Martsinkevich, Chinara Gasanova, Evgeniya Mikhova, Guncha Illenova, Sedat Alkan, Ilgar Melikov, Elena Tin, Vladislav Yakovlev, and Begench Nurdzhykov.

“We did an interesting job”, Chinara Gasanova, a 3rd-year-student and a future journalist, has told us. “We had to make a video not more than 5 minutes long. But that was very difficult: we wanted to show so much. The first day, we wrote a script, distributed roles, and selected costumes. As for the 2nd day, we began to film. We had to change a lot of filming sites: the city center, the Kremlin, the Volga Quay, city parks, and our University”.

“Our team worked as one whole”, Evgeniya Mikhova, Chinara’s groupmate, told us. “We strove to make our film successful. We understood each other perfectly well, and everyone had no doubts about our future victory”.

The students would like to thank Dr. Lyudmila Kasyanova, Dean of ASU’s Department of Philology & Journalism, as well as ASU’s TV Media Center.
