ASU’s Ecological Actions Reported to Entire World

A delegation from Astrakhan State University has taken part in the 1st International EURAS Youth Festival in Istanbul that has been held in early August 2014 and concerned environmental issues in developing countries.

Vladimir Redko (Chairperson of ASU’s Students’ Self-Government Committee) and Sanan Gamidov (Chief of ASU’s Student Directorate for Socialization Support) have represented our University at the Festival. During four days, students, young researchers, and their professors have been discussing issues and prospects of environment, as well as promotion of environmental protection in education.

The two delegates from Astrakhan have shared their experience in handling various volunteer actions and projects that were arranged at ASU to enhance ecological situation in Astrakhan Region and to promote ecological values for the local population.

Vladimir and Sanan have met a lot of peers from Azerbaijan, Greece, Malaysia, Moldova, Romania, Slovenia, and Ukraine. The range of Russian delegates, besides our two people, has included students and professors from Rostov-on-Don, Stavropol, and the Northern Caucasus. The gained contacts and experience will help Vladimir and Sanan perform their projects in a larger scale.
