Department of Math & IT Reveals Young Talents

In early October 2014, the Department of Mathematics & Information Technologies of ASU held the contest “Hello, We’re Searching for Talents” for its first-year-students.

The event has been supervised by Ms. Nuriya Zinalieva, Deputy Dean of the Department for Educational activities. The range of juror has included Dr. Denis Zholobov (Dean of the Department), Dr. Svetlana Kenzhalieva (Acting Head of the Chair of Mathematics & Mathematics Teaching Technique), and Svetlana Brykova (an undergraduate student). Nikita Seleznev has been the presenter of the whole event.

It was Valeriy Kaula, a third-year-student, who opened the concert program. He has performed the song “My Way” by Frank Sinatra. He was followed by his younger counterparts, who presented their creative numbers to be assessed by jurors. There were such songs as “Where is my mind” by The Pixies, “Hit The Road Jack” by Ray Charles, “Very-Very” by “Artik&Asti”, “My Heart Stopped” by Splin, “Star Named Sun” by Victor Tsoy, and “Brown Eyes” by Ahra.

Besides songs, the students have performed bright dances – both collective dances and solos. Each group presented a video. In the end, Anastasia Pankratenkova, a 2nd-year-student, has performed the song “Best in You” by the band “Guests from Future”.

The first place has been granted to all the participants. There are three nomination winners:
  • “Best Greeting” – Group IT-11
  • “Unity & Creativity” – Group MA-11;
  • “Talent” – Group MP-11.

The event has been over with Oksana Arestanova’s performance of the song “Whenever Whatever” by Shakira.
