Winners of “U.M.N.I.K.” Program Determined

The final event to select projects presented in the “U.M.N.I.K.” Program as a part of the Youth Scientific Conference “Innovative Entrepreneurship” has been held at Astrakhan State University.
To participate in the final stage of the contest, 50 projects have been selected in the following fields: ICT, medicine of the future, modern materials and technologies of their production, new devices and tools, biotechnologies. The main events of the contest have been held at four largest higher educational institutions of Astrakhan Region, including ASU.
As a result of public defenses of innovative projects, the expert jury has determined 16 winners of the “U.M.N.I.K.” Program; five of the 16 winners are students and faculty staff members of Astrakhan State University.
The winners shall gain the main prize of the contest – a two-year funding for 400k Russian rubles to develop their innovative ideas further.
The Organizing Committee would like to thank Mr. Igor Zagidulin, Supervisor of the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Astrakhan Region, for his support of projects presented by our local young researchers.
In his turn, Mr. Zagidulin has highly assessed the preparation for the entire event; he has congratulated the winners and advised the rest of the participants not to terminate their project. “Some participants win only at the 3rd or 4th attempt. Such programs exist to learn, gain experience, and grow. I’m sure many of you shall gain a victory in the future”, the Supervisor said.
