Students of Astrakhan’s High Schools Become Students of ASU for One Day

The number of students of Astrakhan State University studying Psychology has increased by 12 people last Friday. Students of Astrakhan’s high schools became students of our University for one day to learn in practice how our students live and how they study to become professional psychologists. That was a traditional event arranged by the Department of Psychology of ASU on an annual basis.

During this unusual academic day, the young people have learnt techniques to recognize a lie, methods to convince a person you are talking with, and means of efficient thinking. They have been to the neurosensory room, talked with their older peers, and learnt much about students’ life and their socialization.

According to Dr. Elena Borisova, “Our potential students should submerge into the educational environment of our University by performing active cognition activities and by cooperating with our faculty and students closely. One might tell about something several times; but one might try and make the right decision – this is the base of our relations with high school students. We regularly invite them to lectures, trainings, and master classes together with our university students”.

As the participants confess, they are grateful to the event organizers and wish to become students of the Department of Psychology of ASU in the near future.
