On November 10, 2015, the National Seminar “Grants: from Applying to Reporting” started at Astrakhan State University.

About 80 people from a number of Southern Russia’s research and educational institutions are taking part in this event; they work in various fields – from medicine and pharmacy to financial management and ICT.

The Seminar aims to enhance the participants’ research and innovative activities. They are to discuss issues of seeking research partners outside Russia, preparation of grant competition documentation, delivery of reports concerning their future grant projects, etc. The participants are also to share their experience of taking part in not just Russian, but also in international grant programs, such as DAAD, the Ford Foundation, Fulbright, and TEMPUS.

The Seminar agenda includes various trainings related to how to name a grant-funded research project, how to prepare its abstract, how applications for grants are processed, what criteria are applied to assess the quality of an application, etc.
