Intellectual Contest at Law Department

In middle December 2015, an intellectual contest dedicated to the Day of the Russian Constitution (it is celebrated on Dec. 12) has taken place at the Law Department of Astrakhan State University.

Three teams have taken part in the contest: the Decembrists (1st-year-students), the Presumption of Innocence (2nd-year-students), and the Legal Entities (3rd- year-students). The jury, which has included both top members of the Department’s faculty staff and their students, has assessed each of the six stages of the game, giving each team 1 to 2 scores for their correct responses.

The welcoming stage implied the participants’ presentation of their short theatricalized performances to emphasize the importance of the Constitution. A quiz that required giving the right response within a limited time has been the most interesting stage. The supporting groups could also help their teams’ success by demonstrating their excellent knowledge of Law in the contest for supporters. As for the last stage (the Rush for Leader), the participants were to guess the identity of a politician displayed on the screen.

The intellectual contest has been a bright and dynamic event; the students have proved that they are worthy future lawyers. The 1st place been won by the Decembrists, the 2nd place – by the Legal Entities, and the 3rd place – by the Presumption of Innocence. The students also got awards in such nominations as the Best Supporter, the Best Public Speaker, the Best Captain, and Creativity of Thinking.

At the end of the intellectual contest, the jury has reminded that the most important thing is not to win but to take part and granted all the participants prizes provided by the Garant Company that provides electronic databases of the whole Russian legislation.

Let us congratulate the participants!
