Our Students’ Achievements in Physics & Technology

Three students of the Department of Physics & Technology of Astrakhan State University (Mikhail Ilmenskiy, Ivan Kolesnikov, and Timur Kuanshkaliev) have taken part in the National Cup of Robotics & Technical Cybernetics, in the Open Winter Robotics Competition held in Saint Petersburg, and in the Internet Competition “Information Technologies in Complex Systems”.

The National Cup of Robotics & Technical Cybernetics is a robot-technical competition that is held on a special site in Moscow. During this event, our three students had a talk with Mr. Dmitry Livanov, the Federal Minister of Education & Science, who asked them what materials they used to assemble their robot and how they assembled it; he wished them good luck in their future work.

As for the Open Winter Robotics Competition, they included a whole range of 35 contests. Our students have taken the 1st place in the contest “Puck Collect”.

The 2nd (face-to-face) stage of the Internet Competition “Information Technologies in Complex Systems” has passed in the town of Yoshkar-Ola; the Volga State University of Technology hosted it. To get through to this stage, it was necessary to pass the 1st (distance) stage. The current competition rate was 40 people per position available; a little more than 40 people have passed through to the final stage. All in all, the finalists had to tackle 12 tasks in ICT, in Math, and in Physics within four hours. As a result of the Competition, Mikhail has taken the 5th place, while Ivan has gained the 6th place.

Let us congratulate the winners!
