Agrarian Department Learns Greek Experience in Gardening

In middle December 2015, students and faculty of the Agrarian Department of Astrakhan State University have taken part in a master class delivered by reps of the University of Thessaloniki (Greece) to apply intense gardening technologies.

Following the visit of an Astrakhan delegation to Greece in 2013, it was agreed to produce joint developments in the sphere of agriculture. Intense gardening is one of those fields of joint activities. In particular, such technologies make it possible for Greeks to gather fruit from trees already 1 or 2 years after those trees have been planted.

Thanks to the master class, our students got a unique opportunity to learn Greek technologies of gardening, in particular, techniques to prepare a garden for the upcoming winter.
