Week of Financial Literacy
In middle March 2016, the National Week of Financial Literacy for Children & Youth is taking place all over Russia. The Center of Financial Literacy operating at Astrakhan State University is participating in this event actively.
As a part of the nationwide event, experts have been invited to ASU to discuss two relevant issues – financial savings and protection of rights of customers of financial services. During the first meeting, whose theme was “Financial Savings”, the importance of savings and the role of financial literacy as the necessary condition to succeed have been under consideration. Our students have asked the experts many interesting questions and given their comments; the Center of Financial Literacy has given them prizes for their active feedback.
As for the second meeting, which has involved an expert from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, it has concerned financial fraud. Knowledge of techniques that financial swindlers apply was under special consideration. Besides, the experts has told about financial pyramids and their typical features.
