Our Student Participates in International Geographical Forum

Viktor Zanozin, a student of the Department of Geology & Geography of Astrakhan State University, has taken part in the International GIS Forum “Integration of Geospace – Future of Information Technologies” that recently been held in Moscow.

The event has been arranged by the Sovzond Company (Russia’s leader in GIS and space monitoring) and by the Roskosmos Corporation (Russia’s governmental space agency). The Forum has united reps of leading operators and developers of Earth remote probing space systems, suppliers of software to process remote probing data, telecommunication and ICT companies, federal and regional authorities, research institutes, universities, etc.

As for Viktor, he has taken part in the discussion of the report “Drones VS Space: Air Alternative to Satellite Data”, as well as in the seminar “Web GIS Based on GETMAP”. He has learnt much about opportunities of applying distance probing data in oil-and-gas, in ecology, and in nature management. He is going to apply the obtained information in his further research activities.
