Pedagogical Conference to Commemorate Our Ex-Rector
The International Conference “Pedagogical Science & Education in Dialogue with Time” has been held at Astrakhan State University in commemoration of Professor Valeriy Alexandrovich Pyatin, who used to be Rector of ASU and Head of its Chair of Pedagogics, an outstanding scholar, pedagogue, educator, and researcher.
The event has been arranged by the Chair of Pedagogics & Continuing Professional Education of ASU. It has united Astrakhan’s researchers in the field of education and Pedagogics, as well as our colleagues from a number of Russia’s cities and towns, from China and Kazakhstan. Professor Pyatin’s widow, Mrs. Olga Grigoryevna Pyatina, has been the distinguished guest at the Conference.
The Conference has identified some particular essential aspects of educational process quality enhancement, the relevant issues of upbringing of the growing generation, and the right conditions to provide pedagogues’ personal and professional growth. Dr. Bella Rykova, an Associate Professor of ASU, has given an especially remarkable report that summarized the main aspects of Prof. Pyatin’s theoretical and practical heritage.
This Conference has become a remarkable event for our faculty and students to study our ex-Rector’s profound experience in Pedagogics. His researches and continuous extension of the range of his scientific interests, his approaches and assessments are closely related to the requirements towards the present-day educational process; they contribute to determination of strategic directions and tasks of education development significantly.
Giving her final speech to the participants of the Conference, Dr. Irina Romanovskaya, Head of our Chair of Pedagogics & Continuing Professional Education, remarked that the held discussion of Professor Pyatin’s research and pedagogical heritage is of great value. “He was a true patriot of the pedagogical science, and the research base he established is relevant up to nowadays”, she pointed out.
