4th Caspian Forum of Foreign Students

On October 02-05, 2016, the 4th Caspian Forum of Foreign Students took place at Astrakhan State University.

ASU arranged this Forum jointly with the World Alumni Russia Association and with the Association of Foreign Students in Russia; the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation backed this event. The Forum aimed to discuss issues of foreign students’ social adaptation while studying in Russia, as well as establish links between foreign students and alumni and form favorable conditions for their further cooperation.

The range of distinguished guests included Dr. Anisette Gabriel Kochofa (Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Benin in the Russian Federation and the CIS), Dr. Yao Nicaise Adu (President of the Foreign Students Association in Russia), and Mr. Vladimir Chetiy (Chairman of the Coordination Council of the World Alumni Russia Association).

Prof. Alexander Lunyov, Acting Rector of ASU, remarked that the number of countries participating in the Caspian Forum is growing every year; 29 countries have been represented in 2016. As for Dr. Kochofa, he thanked ASU for its excellent organization of the Forum and for a real opportunity to arrange international student exchanges, which contribute to development of international links and cultural values and which stimulate young people’s business activities.

The event agenda also included discussion sites, roundtables, master classes, trainings, and excursions to see sights of Astrakhan.
