Students of Department of Physics & Technology Win Prizes at Regional R&D Contest

Three 3rd-years-students – Ayzar Mustafin, Yaroslav Sedov, and Mikhail Kuznetsov – presented two developments to the jury: “Illumination of Chimney of Astrakhan’s Second Heat Power Station at Night by Applying Photoelectric System” and “Modernization of Compressor Facility by Applying Programmable Logic Controller”. Mr. Leonid Filinkov, who works at Astrakhan State University’s Chair of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, & Automatics, supervised both projects. As a result of a hard struggle between contestants, our students have taken the 2nd place, thus having shown a high level of proficiency in the field of power engineering and renewable energy sources.

The contest was held as a part of the 5th Scientific Technological Conference of Young Researchers & Specialists arranged by the LUKOIL-Astrakhanenergo LLC. The presented projects were related to various fields – from altering water deaeration technological strings at a power station to construction enhancement of magnetic starters.
