King Sejong Institute Opened at ASU

The official ceremony of opening the Center of Korean Language & Culture “King Sejong Institute” has taken place at Astrakhan State University.

The Center has been established jointly by Donseo University (South Korea) and Astrakhan State University (Russia). At the official opening ceremony, Mr. Jekuk Chang, President of Dongseo University, gave a speech. He emphasized the real strategic role of activities that the Center of Korean Language & Culture performs in Astrakhan to develop cooperation between South Korea and Russia.

Mr. Sergey Tsoy, who heads the Khamke Idon Korean Cultural Center in Astrakhan, greeted the guests, too. In his speech, he pointed out the real importance of this international project for ethnic Koreans who reside in Astrakhan Region.

The Center of Korean Language & Culture “King Sejong Institute” has become the 5th one in Russia and the 1st one in South Russia. Now people of Astrakhan can study Korean at Astrakhan State University and take part in various events related to the Korean culture.
