Developing Japanese-Russian Relations

Dr. Alfiya Salkhenova, Director of the Institute of Language & Communicative Business Strategies of Astrakhan State University, has taken part in the recent conference of regional reps of public organizations involved in the development of relations between Japan and Russia.

The event took place at the Japanese Embassy in Moscow. Besides giving reports, its agenda included presentation of new ideas.

People of Astrakhan participate actively in the development of Japanese-Russian relations; they take part in this event on an annual basis. Arrangement of cultural events in 2018 was under consideration this time. The year 2018 was declared as the Year of Japan in Russia and as the Year of Russia in Japan. Two people of ASU – Ms. Alina Savinova and Ms. Irina Bocharnikova – run both old traditional projects (which are highly appreciated in Astrakhan Region) and new ones.

We expect 2018 to become highly productive and efficient in the field of development of Japanese-Russian relations in Astrakhan.
