Students of ASU Win National Competition in Farsi

The annual national competition in Farsi has been held at the Institute of Asian & African Studies of Lomonosov Moscow State University. The contest has united students of a number of universities of Russia and nearby countries. Students of Astrakhan State University have gained a victory there.

Students of ASU have taken the 1st place at this competition once again, thus having proved that they are the best in mastering Farsi. The diplomas of champions have been handed by Dr. Mehdi Sanai, Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation.

This competition has been held in Russia since 2004 on an annual basis. Its organizers are the Cultural Center of the Embassy of Iran in Russia and the Institute of Asian & African Studies of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Students of ASU have taken part in this event all the 14 times; they have become champions for the 4th time.

In his turn, Mr. Ali Mohammadi, Consul General of Iran to Astrakhan, visited our Department of Foreign Languages to meet our students, congratulate the winners, and thank their professors for a high level of teaching.
